Open to women over 18 years of age

• An Adult Member has a compliant Blue Card and National Police Check
• An Adult Member must complete the CSCF-Adults in Guiding e-Guiding module
• An Adult Member is a State Girl Guide Member and wears the uniform
• An Adult Member is committed to the principles of Guiding, the Promise and Law and Code of Conduct
• Reports to the Unit Leader

The Leadership role in brief:

• A Unit Helper has a compliant Blue Card, National Police Check and current First Aid (theory).
• A Unit Helper must complete the CSCF-Adults in Guiding e-Guiding module.
• A Unit Helper is a State Girl Guide Member and wears the uniform.
• A Unit Helper contributes to the delivery of a high quality Australian Guide Program (AGP) to youth Members in a safe environment.
• A Unit Helper is committed to the principles of Guiding, the Promise and Law and Code of Conduct.
• A Unit Helper supports the Unit Leadership Team by sharing skills and knowledge and contributing to the Unit program by supporting and encouraging youth Members progress in the Australian Guide Program.
• Reports to the Unit Leader.

Unit Leader

The Leadership role in brief:

• A Unit Leader has a Guides Leadership Qualification in Unit Leadership, a compliant Blue Card, National Police Check and a current First Aid/CPR..
• A Unit Leader must complete both the CSCF-Adults in Guiding and CSCF -Leaders and Managers eguiding modules.
• A Unit Leader is a State Girl Guide Member and wears the uniform.
• A Unit Leader provides effective leadership of the Unit in order to deliver a high quality Australian Guide Program (AGP) to youth members in a safe environment.
• A Unit Leader works with the Unit Leadership Team and is committed to the principles of Guiding, the Promise and Law, Code of Conduct, and promotes Guiding in the community.
• A Unit Leader manages the Unit and administration of the Unit and takes responsibility and accountability of all activities involving the Unit.
• A Unit Leader is responsible for the health and safety, including social media, of all members within the Unit.
• A Unit Leader provides opportunities for youth to develop and use leadership skills, facilitates self-government in the Unit, develops and implements an effective program with youth members and encourages and supports other adults to become involved.
• Reports to the District Manager.

The Leadership role in brief:

• District Manager has a Guides Management Qualification as a District Manager, a compliant Blue Card, National Police Check and current First Aid.
• District Manager must complete both the CSCF-Adults in Guiding and CSCF -Leaders and Managers e-Guiding modules.
• District Manager is a State Girl Guide member and wears the uniform.
• District Manager provides effective management and leadership of the Guiding District including administration and the health and safety of all Members within the District (this includes social media).
• District Manager ensures successful leadership of adult leaders and managers enabling the delivery of a high quality Australian Guide Program (AGP) in a safe environment.
• District Manager is committed to the principles of Guiding, the Promise and Law and Code of Conduct.
• District Manager has highly developed people skills including the ability to work collaboratively with others and to bring out the best in them.
• District Manager actively encourages delivery of the AGP, facilitate sharing between Units, keep up-to-date with WAGGGS and take up opportunities to partake in Unit activities.
• District Manager promotes Guiding in the community, organise, attend and support community events, support Unit Leadership Teams.
• Reports to the Region Manager.

The Leadership role in brief:

• Region Manager has a Guides Management Qualification as a Region Manager, a compliant Blue Card, National Police Check and current First Aid.
• Region Manager must complete both the CSCF-Adults in Guiding and CSCF -Leaders and Managers e-Guiding modules.
• Region Manager is a State Girl Guide member and wears the uniform.
• Region Manager provides support, guidance, feedback and motivation to ensure a focus on the importance of delivery of the Australian Guide Program (AGP).
• Region Manager promotes and models the GGA Promise and Guide Law and the GGA Code of Conduct within Guiding and the wider community.
• Region Manager builds and maintains positive relationships throughout the Region
• Region Manager monitors social media of the Region and participates in making sure that style and language are in keeping with GGA policies and branding.
• Region Manager demonstrates proactive management of the Region budget, accurate records of meetings, correspondence and finances.
• Reports to the State Commissioner

The Leadership role in brief:

• An Outdoors Leader has a Guides Leadership Qualification as an Outdoors Leader and is physically capable to undertake the Outdoors Leader role safely.
• An Outdoors Leader has a compliant Blue Card, National Police Check and current First Aid/CPR
• An Outdoors Leader must complete both the CSCF-Adults in Guiding and CSCF-Leaders and Managers e-Guiding modules
• An Outdoors Leader is a State Girl Guide member and wears the uniform.
• An Outdoors Leader is part of the District/Region Team
• An Outdoors Leader Is dedicated to deliver a safe, high quality outdoors program to youth members providing opportunities to youth to develop and use outdoors skills.
• An Outdoors Leader promotes Guiding in the community and supports and shares knowledge with Leadership Teams.
• An Outdoors Leader is committed to the principles of Guiding, the Promise and Law and Code of Conduct.
• Reports to the District Manager.

Aged 18 to 30

• An Olave Member is a young women who wishes to be a Guide as an Adult Member
• An Olave Member has a compliant Blue Card and National Police Check.
• An Olave Member must complete the CSCF-Adults in Guiding e-Guiding module.
• An Olave Member is a State Girl Guide member and wears the uniform.

The Olave Program is for members of Guiding in Australia aged 18-30, and focuses on the three aspects of community, adventure and self-development.
Olaves take opportunities to:

• Make a positive difference in their communities through volunteering, service and advocacy
• Challenge themselves through new experiences especially in the outdoors and internationally
• Develop skills and knowledge to enable them to grow as individuals

The Olave Program is underpinned by the Guide Promise and Law and the innovations and traditions of Australian Guiding. It is flexible in that it adapts to suit the needs of its members and is governed entirely by those members. Olave members form self-governed peer groups who plan, implement and participate in scheduled activities.
Alternatively, members can participate and represent Guiding and young women as an individual in local, State or National events.
The peak achievement award is the Olave Baden-Powell Award.

Open to women 18 years of age and over

• A Trefoil Guild Member has a compliant Blue Card and National Police Check.
• A Trefoil Guild Member must complete the CSCF-Adults in Guiding e-Guiding module.
• A Trefoil Guild Member is a State Girl Guide member.

If your time for regular Guiding is limited because of study, training, career, family or other responsibilities and you wish to keep your link with Guiding, then Trefoil Guild may be just the fit for you!
Trefoil Guild links members with Guide Leaders, Commissioners and Support Group members, women members of the Scout Association, and women who have made the Guide Promise.
‘Dual Trefoil Guild Members’ are women who hold qualifications or appointments with Girl Guides Queensland or the Scout Association or are active Support Group/District Support Team members who have made the Guide Promise. Former members of member countries of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) now residing in Australia are also able to join Trefoil Guild.
