The Governor's Creative writing competition for GGQ

We are very excited to introduce Girl Scribes! The Governor's Creative writing competition for Girl Guides in Queensland!

Introduction
The Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honorable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, as a proud patron of Girl Guides Queensland and a passionate supporter of literacy, is proud to present 'Girl Scribes! The Governor's Creative Writing Competition for Girl Guides in Queensland'

Open to Youth Guide Members of all ages, the competition encourages Guides to reflect on their experiences of guiding through the lens of the inaugural theme - "Exploring what makes Queensland great!"

Profits made from the Governor's Creative Writing Competition for Girl Guides in Queensland will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Since 2011, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation has worked with over 400 remote communities, gifted 636,000 books, supplied 83 playgroups with early literacy Book Buzz resources, and published 143 books reflecting 26 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island languages.

Judging
This annual competition will be judged by the Patron, the current Girl Guides Queensland State Commissioner and an appropriate qualified independent community member chosen by the Patron.
