District Matters

31 August 2018

AnchorAll Things Money

I am keen to share an aspect of my role having been in the SEO role four months today.

I have taken the opportunity to review, observe and listen to feedback about how GGQ works in all matters related to money. This has included everything from collections, receipts, audits, bank accounts, auditing grants, State Office processes, training and guidance to anyone involved in any aspect of money management.

At State Office we have identified areas that we need to improve to reduce your workload and provide improved service to you. I have made this a priority project that our team will undertake over the coming months, and I will keep you updated on this activity.

I welcome your comments by Friday 14 September on what works well, drives you nuts, and ‘this would make my life easier’ in relation to any money matter.

Your feedback will help shape priorities for this project. I will share the findings (minus names/Districts) with the State Commissioner Team, Queensland Management Committee, Finance Committee and Region Managers in order that we can collectively identify ways to improve our way of working - and maybe use some of our hours in different ways!

Please email me at seo@guidesqld.org.

State Executive Officer

Volunteer Grants Update

Would a grant of between $1,000 to $5,000 for items, training or fuel reimbursement to support volunteers help your volunteers?

We strongly encourage all Districts to apply for this grant. A ‘How to Apply Guide” has been developed and can be found HERE. If you apply, we kindly ask that you notify State Office via caitlink@guidesqld.org

Applications close Tuesday 18 September at 2pm.

Blue Card Updates

Please take note of the following when submitting a blue card application or link form.

  1. Please do not scan the checklist as part of the Blue Card form. This is purely for you to check that all parts of the form have been completed.
  2. There is no need for a JP to certify the ID documents. The Organisation member is just checking the documents to verify that the applicant’s full name, DOB and signature are able to be sighted.
  3. Please do not scan ANY credit cards as identification as this poses a risk and could lead to theft.
  4. Please forward all forms and enquiries to bluecard@guidesqld.org
