So please start thinking about next year’s biscuit orders for your District as we will be sending out the request for orders towards the end of October. Successful Grants

Would a grant of between $1,000 to $5,000 for items, training or fuel reimbursement to support volunteers help your volunteers? We strongly encourage all Districts to apply for this grant. A How to Apply Guide has been developed and can be found HERE. If you apply, we kindly ask that you notify State Office via caitlink@guidesqld.org

Applications close Tuesday 18 September at 2pm.

Keeping Children Safe

Managers and Members are reminded that Keeping Children Safe (KCS) is a compulsory training for all Girl Guide Queensland staff, members and volunteers who work with Children.  All new adult members working with children are required to complete this course as soon as possible. It should be a high priority for all our members.

The revised KCS course is a user-friendly interactive, self-paced online training to help in understanding the Child Protection laws and how they apply to Girl Guides. In this course you will discover your rights and responsibilities under the Child Protection laws and become familiar with the Child Protection policies, procedures and strategies of Girl Guides Australia and Girl Guides Queensland.

Click Here for instructions about how to access KCS training on the new E-Learning platform. In conjunction with the course, participants need to download GGQ Keeping children Safe Booklet January 2017.

Bluecard Updates

In follow up from a recommendation from the Royal Commission, Blue Card Services are aiming to process new applications and renewals within a 7 - 10 day time frame which is certainly an improvement from the previous 4 weeks time frame.

Please remember to check completed forms before sending. Sections not completed fully mean a delay in submission or a request for further information from Blue Card Services.

All Blue Card paperwork should be sent to bluecard@guidesqld.org.
