For the community

Providing a service to the community is at the very heart of Guiding. Guides and Leaders gain a sense of self-worth and greater understanding of their community by 'giving something back'.

Under the guidance of skilled and passionate Leaders, Guides develop the confidence to ensure they play a contributing role in their local community and are responsible members of society.

Leaders instill positive values in the young women, leading by example and adhering to a number of Girl Guides Queensland policies that relate to safety, alcohol and drugs.

While it is important for Leaders to ensure Guides give back to the community, members of the public also have an opportunity to support their local Guide Unit. District Support Teams and Support Groups provide assistance to Leaders by participating in decision making, assisting with maintaining meeting places and helping promote Guides in the community.
