Leaders of Tomorrow

Guiding offers many opportunities and experiencesAbout the youth members

Guides are girls aged from five to 18. While they have a range of interests and come from a variety of backgrounds, they all value the friendship, adventures and knowledge they gain through their Guiding experience.

Guides take part in a wide range of events and activities, which are tailored to their age and abilities. The girls have an opportunity to be involved in every aspect of their program, by helping to decide on and plan activities, then actively participating and evaluating their successes under the guidance of an accredited and trained Leader.

Guides belong to a local Unit, which is divided into two or more small groups called Patrols.  Through their Patrol activities, the Guides gain life skills in communication, teamwork, decision making and leadership, which help prepare them for life.

Each girl makes a promise which shows her commitment to the principles of Guiding, linking her with the 10 million other Guides worldwide.
