your family and friends, you consider leaving a gift in your will to Girl Guides Queensland.
Gifts left to charities in wills come in all different shapes and sizes and giving a gift in your will
is not just for wealthy people – it is for anybody thinking about doing something powerful,
special and lasting.After providing for the financial needs of your beneficiaries, your will allow you to help others, not to mention, a charitable will bequest is a highly effective way to reduce estate taxes.
The need is great. That is why we are asking as many of our supporters as possible to consider
including a gift in their will.
Dr JoanGodfrey’s legacy lives on through the Godfrey Leadership Fund
Joan and her sister Aileen ‘Kim’ Godfrey OAM were strong believers in lifelong learning and active advocates for women and girls. Joan wanted her gift to ensure Guides could continue to provide joy to others, as it did to her and her sister.
Through Joan’s generous bequest the Godfrey Leadership Fund has provided funding for our adult member training. This supports and nurtures quality leadership, increasing the capacity of our volunteers to deliver the Guide Program and create memorable experience and positive culture within Girl Guides Queensland.

pathways through unique extra-curricular activities. Your kindness will ensure the best support,
tools and resources are provided for girls and young women.

How to include a gift in your will
Everyone should have a will as it gives you the power to choose how your assets can benefit
your loved ones and the world you leave behind.
Making or updating a will is simple - just ask your solicitor to include the type of gift of your
choosing.
